lyrics
Become what you hate, I can’t say that I wouldn’t do the same,
And that’s coming from a place deep inside my heart.
In my mind, we both know that it’s hard
Tired of excuses, these empty gestures make me lose it,
It’s not what I want to do
Tired of excuses, these empty words coming out of your mouth,
It’s not what I want from you.
There’s no need to say sorry, you know these people wouldn’t do the same
And who’s to blame? You.
I can’t say that I wouldn’t do the same,
Become what you hate.
When you found the words
But you can’t get them out
And the only one to be let down
Is yourself

Wonderful dramatic opening, the voice of a black woman in all her honesty, vulnerability and openess. And then one of the fiercest tracks of Zulu, total hardcore: 'Now they are through with me', full of twists and turns, and suddenly ending in a kind of soul-track, brilliant! This is 21st century music at it's best. The end lecture is dramatic and disturbing, spoken again by a black woman. Makes you think. Hesperus
